Here we have a face-off between Animal Cuts and Super Cuts 3. Both are highly popular products from the Universal Nutrition supplement line. Whereas Animal Cuts come in packs (each pack containing multiple capsules), Super Cuts 3 comes in tablets.
In terms of benefits, Animal Cuts promises everything from helping you to burn fat faster, to enhancing mood & focus. Super Cuts 3 is more streamlined – it focuses on fat burning, appetite suppression, and water excretion. In today’s article, we’ll focus on which one is better in the context of weight loss, comparing them against the current best-rated fat-burning supplements.
Let’s dive in!
Animal Cuts vs Super Cuts 3 Summary
While neither Animal Cuts nor Super Cuts 3 make it to our “top list”, we rate Super Cuts 3 as the better option overall. It contains a more transparent formula (as opposed to Animal Cuts’ proprietary blends), it costs less ($15.91 vs $41.95), and it contains optimal dosages of diuretics to help reduce bloating. Animal Cuts may be better when it comes to enhancing your energy levels, but we can’t recommend it since we can’t see the caffeine dosage. That said, we are not fans of either one. Both use some unproven ingredients that only waste capsule space, and are missing some core ingredients for fat burning and appetite suppression. Any of the current best-reviewed weight loss supplements would blow them out of the water.

Animal Cuts vs Super Cuts 3 Overview
Animal Cuts
Animal Cuts is an all-in-one weight loss/energy-boosting supplement. It is specifically made for bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts to help them shred excess body fat. It consists of 8 all-natural ingredient complexes, each one targeting a different area of performance.
For example, Animal Cuts has ingredients that focus specifically on boosting your energy levels, but it also contains some nootropic compounds which enhance mental focus. Animal Cuts also contains a thermogenic blend that aims to enhance your overall calorie expenditure.
Universal Nutrition says you can think of Animal Cuts as your “everything you need, conveniently dosed in a single pack” type of product. They go on to say “you don’t have to think about anything” – just take a pack twice per day for three weeks and you’re golden!
- After these 3 weeks, they recommend taking a week or two off from Animal Cuts, before using it again. This is sort of a downside, as the best fat burners need to be taken continually in order to provide maximum effects long-term.
Since Animal Cuts contains diuretics, you need to make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to avoid putting strain on your kidneys.
Let’s take a closer look at its competitor – Super Cuts 3 – to see how the two compare.
Super Cuts 3
Super Cuts 3 is a natural supplement formulated to maximize your metabolic speed and help enhance fat burning. Super Cuts 3 consists of key active ingredients such as diuretics, energizers, and insulin enhancers, as well as fat emulsifying compounds. Together, these ingredients are claimed to help you with:
- Fat breakdown
- Increased calorie usage
- Excess water weight loss
The dosage for Super Cuts 3 is to take 3 capsules, 3 times per day with at least 8oz of your preferred beverage. For best results, Super Cuts 3 is recommended to be taken 30 minutes before exercise and going to sleep.
Sounds good at first glance. But, how will Super Cuts 3 work for you? Is it safe and effective? And how does it compare to Animal Cuts in terms of fat burning and other benefits? The ingredients will tell us the answer!

Needless to say, that is a lot of ingredients! Animal Cuts has decided to cover pretty much all aspects of health and performance, not just the “cutting” part.
With so many ingredients, though, you have to wonder, did it have to sacrifice their doses in order to cram so many?
This question may be more difficult to answer than you may think! This is because all the ingredients of Animal Cuts are hidden in proprietary blends.
In case you already aren’t familiar, a proprietary blend is a term for putting ingredients together as a single value on the label. You can only see the total amount of ingredients combined – but not their individual amounts. As a consequence, you can’t assess ingredient doses for safety or effectiveness.
The ingredients themselves look solid, however. Animal Cuts has some of our favorite natural compounds for stimulating fat burning in the body, as well as suppressing your appetite. Caffeine, Green Tea, and Cayenne Pepper should together help you burn more calories throughout the day. Meanwhile, L-Tyrosine and Ashwagandha enhance your mood and reduce stress levels. We also get a number of diuretics which are useful if you’re trying to lose water weight.
But Animal Cuts also uses some completely unproven and ineffective ingredients. Raspberry Ketones, Kola Nut, Evodiamine, and Juniper Bery are just some of the ingredients in Animal Cuts that are wasting capsule space. They should be replaced with more effective compounds, such as Glucomannan (appetite suppressant), chromium (blood sugar stabilizer), and vitamin D (metabolic enhancer and hormone balancer).
We believe Animal Cuts’ formula is a mixed bag – quite literally. It should give you some energy and focus, but don’t expect miracles in the weight loss department. We need to emphasize once again the fact that you can’t see ingredient doses. Not only is this a problem because some ingredients could be underdosed (and thus ineffective), but also because caffeine could be over-served and lead to side effects.
Super Cuts 3 Ingredients
Super Cuts 3 has a much more streamlined formula than Animal Cuts, and you can also see ingredient doses here. Here’s a look at the label:

Again, if you had issues with that image not loading properly, here’s a list of ingredients in Super Cuts 3:
- Vitamin B6 (25mg)
- Calcium (365mg)
- Chromium (15mcg)
- L-Carnitine (600mg)
- Lecithin (500mg)
- Choline Bitartrate (300mg)
- Inositol (500mg)
- DL-Methionine (200mg)
- Taraxacum (250mg)
- Grapefruit Peel Powder (125mg)
- Green Tea Leaf Extract (EGCG) (125mg)
- Uva Ursi Leaf (200mg)
- Cayenne Fruit (50mg)
We will say that even though it has a significantly smaller formula, Super Cuts 3 look superior to Animal Cuts in our eyes. While Animal Cuts does have better fat-burning ingredients, that doesn’t mean anything if we can’t see their doses. They could very well be underdosed and ineffective. So, the fewer ingredients in Super Cuts 3 could pack more punch than those in Animal Cuts, because they are properly dosed.
We have vitamin B6, which is essential for nervous system function and energy metabolism. There is also chromium in Super Cuts 3, which helps to reduce food cravings.
Lecithin helps to reduce the build-up of fat in your liver, helping it to work more efficiently.
We also get Green Tea Leaf Extract and Cayenne Fruit Extract, which are decent fat burners. There is also no caffeine in Super Cuts 3, which is another advantage over Animal Cuts for people who want to avoid stimulants.
On the whole, Super Cuts 3 is a solid formula if you’re looking to support your fat loss and also enhance water excretion.
That said, is it the best formula we’ve seen? Not really! Even though we find it to be better than Animal Cuts, Super Cuts 3 still has some issues that need to be addressed.
For one, Super Cuts 3 also uses some completely untested ingredients in. L-Carnitine is a hyped but questionable ingredient. Carnitine works by enhancing your mitochondria in cells to burn fat for energy more efficiently. However, human studies often show that this effect is not significant enough to lead to concrete results. As of right now, the fat loss results of carnitine are questionable at best – as confirmed by the research analysts at Examine.
Which Formula Looks Better Overall?
Neither Animal Cuts nor Super Cuts 3 are the best weight loss supplements we’ve seen. They both have some serious issues that make them fall behind the leading fat burners on the market.
That said, between the two, Super Cuts 3 is definitely a better formula. There are 2 reasons why: it has a more transparent ingredient label, and is more effective at promoting water weight loss.
Animal Cuts vs Super Cuts 3 Side Effects: Which is Safer?
Animal Cuts and Super Cuts both use ingredients that are not known to produce severe side effects when used in recommended dosages. The doses of ingredients in Super Cuts 3 are within safe limits, so it’s unlikely to cause you any side effects.
Now, if you’ve been with us so far, you know that Animal Cuts doesn’t show us ingredient doses. There is an unknown amount of caffeine in the supplement, which could be a problem. If it is overserved, it can lead to insomnia, jitters, anxiety episodes, and heart palpitations among others.
If you are sensitive to caffeine or any other ingredients in Animal Cuts and Super Cuts 3, talk to your doctor before using them for the first time.
Pricing & Value
Animal Cuts costs $41.95 for a container with 42 packs. Super Cuts is significantly cheaper at $15.91 for 48 packs.
Takeaway
Which one do we recommend: Animal Cuts or Super Cuts 3? Which is more effective for weight loss?
The answer is that we don’t recommend either Animal Cuts or Super Cuts 3. Both supplements have some serious issues that make them weak compared to other options on the market.
In the case of Animal Cuts, the main problems are the usage of proprietary blends which hide ingredient doses, along with using some ineffective and unproven ingredients. It also contains a potentially high amount of caffeine which can result in negative side effects.
As for Super Cuts 3, it is significantly cheaper than Animal Cuts, and it at least shows ingredient doses clearly on the label. So in that regard, it’s the better option. However, it too uses some untested ingredients and is missing a better appetite suppressant and thermogenic in its formula to really make an impact on your weight loss. That said, Super Cuts 3 contains some excellent diuretics; if this is your main goal, then it could be a good option.
If you’re serious about cutting weight effectively, though, then you will want to do more research, as better options can be found elsewhere.
