Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn Review at a Glance:

Although it claims to be a 3-in-1 supplement, Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn fails to deliver all of its promises. It may be a great sleep aid product, but not as much of a fat burner and appetite suppressant.

The formula for weight loss leaves us wanting more. It lacks most of the key compounds, including a better appetite suppressant such as glucomannan and a nighttime thermogenic such as cayenne pepper extract.

If you are looking for something to speed up your weight loss progress then it’s best to do more research. Unfortunately, Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn is far from the best weight loss pill on the market.

Having said that, we’ve found this supplement to be great for improving sleep. Just don’t keep your hopes up too high when it comes to fat burn.

About Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn is a PM fat burner, appetite suppressant, and Sleep Aid supplement.

It contains all-natural ingredients and unlike most fat burners, it has no stimulants. Its formula not only helps you fight the evening cravings but also calms your body and mind.

Dr. Emils’s Bedtime Burn is said to help you stick to your diet and at the same time help you relax, sleep better, and feel better overall.

Its 3-in-1 formula consists of the following:

  • Vitamin D (as Cholecalciferol) 60mcg
  • White Kidney Bean Extract 500mg
  • Green Tea Extract (50% EGCG) 200mg
  • L-Theanine 125mg
  • L-Tryptophan 60mg
  • Valerian Root Powder 55mg
  • Passion Flow Extract 55mg
  • Melatonin 5mg

Let’s take a closer look at each ingredient and see how good they are.

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn Ingredients

Dr. Emil's Bedtime Burn Ingredients

Vitamin D

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn contains 60mcg (2400UI) of vitamin D, which is a great dose.

Since many of us are guilty of too much time spent inside, and not enough outdoors, vitamin D supplementation comes in handy. Especially during the winter days when we are generally less exposed to the sun.

In Bedtime Burn, vitamin D comes as cholecalciferol. Cholecalciferol is also known as vitamin D3.

We are glad manufacturers choose vitamin D3 because it gets absorbed better than any other vitamin D form (for example vitamin D2 or ergocalciferol).

In the end, vitamin D is a neat addition to the formula. And a helpful one.

White Kidney Bean Extract

White Kidney Bean extract is also known as Phase 2. In the body, it acts as a carb blocker, or better said, it reduces carbohydrate absorption. By inhibiting their digestion, their calories don’t get absorbed.

White Kidney Bean’s effect seems particularly effective in people who are not on a diet. Even during a high-carb diet, white kidney bean seems effective in reducing weight and body fat levels.

The dosage of 500mg in Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burner is according to the recommended doses. So in that regard, it is good.

However, to be effective, white kidney beans must be taken with a carbohydrate meal. So this is something you should have in mind when taking Bedtime Burn.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea is a source of many healthy bioactive compounds, but primarily polyphenols. Polyphenols have many health benefits. They protect the body from oxidative stress (free radicals), promote the normal function of the organs, and reduce inflammation.

Of all the polyphenols in green tea, the most abundant are catechins. Some catechins have fat-burning properties. These are EGCG.

As you can see from the Bedtime Burn label, green tea extract is standardized to 50% of EGCG content. EGCG improves lipid oxidation, and as such can be of great help in your weight loss process.

However, there is a catch.

They are effective only in high dosages and for people who don’t consume caffeine regularly. So if you are an avid coffee drinker, EGCG’s effectiveness may be affected.

However, the dose in Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burner is way too small to even affect your fat burn. So the fact that you love to drink a lot of coffee doesn’t even matter that much.

The recommended EGCG dosage for fat burn is around 400-500mg. This makes the total of 100mg of EGCG in bedtime Burn noticeably underdosed.

However, even though green tea won’t help you lose weight in this case, it is still a great source of polyphenols and other healthy compounds. So in that regard, it is not a waste. But don’t expect it to make a difference in your fat loss.

If you want to find out more about green tea and how it performs for weight loss, then check this study.

L-Theanine

Alongside caffeine and catechins, L-Theanine is another compound that can be found in green tea.

Contrary to caffeine, which acts as a stimulant and pumps up your system, L-Theanine has the opposite effect. It promotes relaxation. And as such, it works great with caffeine because it decreases its side effects.

Also, L-theanine seems to positively affect sleep quality. This makes it a good companion to other Bedtime Burn ingredients that promote better sleep.

The standard dose of L-Theanine is around 100-200mg. So the 125mg in Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn seems good.

L-Tryptophan

L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid. This means is the body can’t produce it by itself, but we have to get it through our food. Naturally, it is found in red meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy.

L-Tryptophan is very important for the body. It acts as a precursor to serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that affects brain function and mood. So L-Tryptophan supplementation is not so uncommon.

The standard dose is around 60mg. So the dosage of L-Tryptophan in Bedtime Burn is according to the recommendations.

The use of L-Tryptophan has been studied for various reasons, but most often for improving mood and sleep quality. For now, the studies show mixed results, so more research in the future is needed.

If you want to find out more about L-Tryptophan and its use, check this study.

Passion Flower Extract

Passionflower was traditionally used to aid sleep because it has a calming effect. People also use it as a stress reliever and for reducing anxiety.

However, for now, there is no good scientific evidence that supports its benefits.

Valerian Root Powder

Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is a herbal tea. It has a relaxing effect, and people believe it can relieve anxiety and make it easier to fall asleep.

However, current scientific evidence suggests it is not that effective.

Melatonin

Melatonin is a hormone that regulates sleep. Oral use of melatonin is often used as a sleep aid and to normalize irregular sleep patterns.

Melatonin supplementation is especially useful for people who work night shifts or travel a lot and get affected by jet lag. It shortens the time it takes you to fall asleep.

It is non-addictive, and regular use won’t cause “negative feedback”. In other words, it won’t cause your body to produce less of a hormone. So you won’t get dependant on melatonin use.

Depending on the individual, the doses can vary. However, the most standard doses are between 3-5mg. So Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn contains a good amount of melatonin.

To help you sleep, you should take melatonin approximately 30 minutes before going to bed.

Our Commentary on Bedtime Burn’s Formula

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn claims to act as an Appetite Suppressant, Sleep Aid, and Fat Burner. However, we find it hard to believe so. At least, not with this formula.

In terms of weight loss, Bedtime Burn underperforms. For starters, it contains only two weight loss ingredients, while the rest of the formula is for relaxation and sleep. Not for burning weight.

By itself, the fact that Bedtime Burn contains only two weight loss ingredients isn’t problematic. But they are either underdosed or don’t fit the formula quite right.

For starters, the dosage of green tea extract is way too small. This makes it pretty much useless for fat burn.

On the other hand, the white kidney bean is in a good dose. But to be effective, you need to take it with a carbohydrate meal. However, due to melatonin, Bedtime burns should be taken 30 minutes before going to sleep because it makes you sleepy.

So this means you will need to eat a dinner full of carbs right before going to bed. Which is kind of contradictory to the whole dieting notion.

If you have a hard time reducing carbs in your afternoon meals, then Bedtime Burn may be for you. But for everyone else, we have seen much better weight loss formulas.

As far as the sleep quality goes, Bedtime Burn is great. It has some great ingredients and great dosages. No objections here.

However, it advertises itself as a fat burner and appetite suppressant as well. Not only as a sleep aid.

And its weight loss formula is far from impressive.  It seems to be more of a sleep quality supplement than anything else. So if you are trying to lose some weight, don’t expect a miracle with Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn.

Side Effects

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn ingredients seem safe. For most people, they shouldn’t cause any issues.

However, some customers report minor side effects such as stomach upset. But generally speaking, serious side effects haven’t been reported.

Testimonials & Reviews

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn is not so well-received among customers. On Amazon, people rated it 3.8 out of 5, which is rather mediocre.

Just like us, most people have the same objections about Bedtime Burn. They say it helped them fall asleep faster but in terms of weight loss, it was ineffective.

Directions & How to Use Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn

Take two (2) capsules of Bedtime Burn with a glass of water.

How and when to take Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn, manufacturers didn’t specify. However, according to its formula, it’s best to take it before going to sleep, and preferably with a meal.

Pricing, Availability, and Other Things to Consider

From what we saw, Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn seems to be most affordable on the official website. Right now, it sells for $19.95.

Bedtime Burn is also available on Amazon, Walmart, GNC, eBay, and other well-known retailers. But the prices are a little higher.

Takeaway

Unfortunately, it seems Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn tries to be good in too many things rather than to be excellent in one. And this ultimately cost its performance.

As a weight loss aid and appetite suppressant, Bedtime Burn has a lot of room for improvement. This is especially noticeable if you compare it to the leading fat burners on the market. It just can’t compete with them.

On the other hand, Bedtime Burn performs quite well as a sleep aid. And in our opinion, this should be its primary function.

Dr. Emil’s Bedtime Burn is not a bad supplement. But make sure you know what to expect from it.

If you are looking for a supplement to help your weight loss journey, then you should probably look elsewhere. But as a sleep aid supplement, it will serve you well.
