However, since citric acid is weak in its effects, the main impact that Plenity is promising is to reduce your hunger. By extension, you will eat smaller portions of foods without constant food cravings. This leads to long-term weight loss. At least according to Plenity’s marketing material on their website!

The question is, does Plenity really work as advertised?

Well, we think it has a few major drawbacks that only a few reviewers are talking about. For one, Plenity is using a proprietary blend. Meaning, we don’t know the dosages of citric acid and cellulose. This is an issue because not knowing the dose of an ingredient prevents us from assessing it for safety and effectiveness. For all we know, Plenity could be 99% citric acid, which would make it a waste of time and money.

The ingredients themselves are decent. Both cellulose and citric acid have some evidence behind them that they can help promote weight loss. Cellulose does it by making you feel fuller and therefore consuming fewer calories, whereas citric acid helps you burn a few extra calories per hour – not significant but it could add up if you pair it with a clean diet consistently.

It is an overpriced supplement that contains just two ingredients. The ingredients themselves are not shown in human research to have effects as substantial as Plenity claims on their website. If you’re consistent with your diet, you may see a slight improvement from adding Plenity to your regimen, but definitely not worth the $98. For this price, you can get 2 months’ worth of far better supplements. Don’t be fooled by the “FDA-cleared” claims and such – they are there just for marketing, nothing else. It’s the formula that speaks, and in Plenty’s case, it’s not looking good!

Between Plenity and Glucomannan, glucomannan is the clear winner. It is going to give you similar effects in terms of appetite reduction while being more affordable. Even better is, if you find a product that combines glucomannan with other proven weight loss ingredients, such as cayenne extract and chromium, to name a few.
